Welcome to the Sunday night tutor edition of Common Man Cocktails, I’m your host, Derrick Schommer. Today we’re going to satisfy the Amaretto people. There are people who have been asking more Amaretto, not really chanting, they’re outside pickets no. So what we’re going to do is a very basic yet neat little Amaretto drink. We’re using a Disaronno original Amarettto, we’re going to do an ounce. We’re going to do an ounce of Amaretto, an ounce of orange juice and an ounce of pineapple juice. Fruits and Amaretto. So it’s totally Amaretto with some fruits, obviously.
So what we’re going to do is there has to be a shaker drink because it’s got your juices in there. So what we’re going to do is throw some ice in here. So if you’re like me, you might have other people who want to have one of these or try one of these. So what you could do is just double your ingredients since its all proportions of one part. That’s another question people ask is, what’s a part? I don’t know what’s a part. A part is whatever you want it to be. If you want it to be an ounce, in some case one to two parts, you have once ounce, two ounces, not too bad.
So what I’m going to do is, I am going to do a two ounce measurement so that I can make two shots. Really it’s like almost three at that point, but that’s fine with me. I mean, two ounces of everything, not very good at math, so having things being in a nice even proportion is definitely helpful for me. There you go, two, two and two that’s two four six, shake that up.
There you go, one shot glass here, you could show your shot glass out. Looks like a breakfast shot. Like fuzzy little orange juice, nice little head, it’s like a really, really crazy beer. Oh that’s cool, it smells naughty. I thought I would be drown up by the fruits, but that smells really good, very appetizing smelling.
That’s tasty. It’s very much—if you don’t like Amaretto, you’re probably not going to be too impressed, but what this does, it takes Amaretto and it gives you the smoothness and this fruitiness that you don’t really get from it, but the Amaretto because it got that nut and sweet fact, it really cuts right through the juices, so you keep the juice in the nuts. They melt together to from this very nice drinking sensation. I’m going to call this sensation. It’s very tasty, not too sweet, very juicy, got the Amaretto for all those lovers. So I’m your host Derrick Schommer. We’re teaching you how to drink.
