Mara: Welcome to a taste from the melting pot. It’s a show where we explore foods from all over the world without even leaving our backyard. Hi, I’m Mara McFalls your host and today we’re going to meet Dinah Surh from South Korea and she’s going to help us uncover all of the spicy, fresh and light flavors of Korea. But first, before we meet Dinah, let’s find out what life is like in Korea. Male: Neighboring China to the West and Japan to the East, South Korea enjoys a story uniquely its own. It’s a land where 5,000 of history stands side by side with some of the most advanced technology in the world. Despite its race to become an economic super power, South Korea has worked hard to preserve its ancient traditions, at weddings for instance. Timeless customs still prevail everything from the decorations to the dessert are chosen to symbolize the happiness the new couple will share.
