Installing a new hard drive in an Apple MacBook
Presented by 4AllMemeory.com
Place the MacBook on a soft surface. Then flip it upside down, find a coin, just about any coin will do, locate the battery latch here. Turn the coin clockwise to unlock the latch. Then, lift the battery out, like so.
Find the three screws that hold the bracket in, 1, 2 and 3. You will need a Phillips #1 screwdriver. Loosen but do not try to remove the screws.
Next, pull out the L-bracket. Here is your hard drive. Unroll the hard drive pull tab. Pull the tab straight out to remove the hard drive. We need to take the case off of the old hard drive there are 2 screws on either side we will need to remove.
You will need a Torx T8 screwdriver for these. Slide the casing off and set the old hard drive aside. Take your new drive and attach the case to it with the screws.
Now, just put everything back how you found it. You can now power on.
Use the software disc that came with your MacBook to install Mac OS X on your shiny new hard drive. Enjoy!
