Hi, I'm Aisha Alvez with Picture Perfect Make-up and today I'm showing you how to apply ten-minute make-up for all day beauty.
What we've done already is apply all your color on the face and what we’re going to do now is just finish off the look with a really pretty long lasting lip color.
What you're going to start with is a little bit of your leftover foundation or concealer and what I like to do is just kind of apply that around the lip line. This serves two purposes; number one it’s going to kind of erase any extra redness you have around the lip and it’ll help act as an anchor for your lip color. So you see I just put on really sheer and you don’t need to do a lot.
You're next step is to line the lips. You want to use a pencil that pretty much matches or a little bit deeper than your natural lip color. So I'm going to use a soft rose and you want to follow the natural contours of the lip kind of starting in the middle and then working your way across. Now you can see how I'm applying this. I'm using short little strokes because this will give you a more natural look than if you just draw it all the way over.
Now what most people do is they’ll line the lips as an outline and then fill in with their lipstick. If you want your make-up to really last longer what you can do is use your pencil and actually fill in the whole lip, again this will give something for your color to grab on to and last longer.
Once you’ve applied your lip pencil you can go straight into your lip color. For everyday make-up I think what want to do for her is just something really nude and soft so it doesn’t take away from all the pretty colors that we've done on her eyes. So I'm going to use another pinky-beige. When you apply your lip color and if you want to last for long time again I would suggest using a brush. The brush is going to apply the lipstick in a more uniform and smooth manner so it grabs the lips better and will last longer. I’m just applying it right on the lips and blending it into that pencil. And a trick that we like to do as make-up artist to make sure that your lipstick all day is to blot, that pressing motion kind of pushes the color into the lips a little bit more, and then very quickly apply one more layer of that lip color. When you sandwich your products like this it kind of helps them stick to the skin better.
Now when you pick out your lipstick it’s really important to pay attention to the formula if you want to have something that will wear a long time. I'm using a very kind of matte creamy lip color that will really grab to the skin. You don’t want to use any thing that’s too wet or too glossy because that is going to slide off more easily. But we do want to have a little bit of shine so once you apply the lipstick you can add a little bit of gloss.
If you want your lip color to stay on go for gloss that has a little bit of shimmer because the shimmer tends to again grab on to the lips a little bit better and stay on longer. But we careful when you apply you don’t want to overload the lips with the gloss because again that will slide off. Just take a little bit and apply it lightly to the center of the lip and blot and then once you blot it kind of transfers to the top and you just have a little bit of glow that’s all the color that you want at that point.
So what we’ve done today is create a ten-minute look that will last all day by prepping the skin, applying a basic eye, evening out the skin tone and then giving your face a glow to finish it off with the beautiful lip. This is something that Theresa can do really quickly in the morning that will last her all day.
