Speaker: Are organic foods are healthier substitute to other foods?

Jeannette Bessinger: The short to that is probably yes. Organic foods because they are grown without synthetic pesticides, chemicals, additives things like that, don't have toxins that your body needs to get rid off. They are also grown with more natural soil and more natural farming techniques such as crop rotation, which means that they are probably have a higher vitamin and mineral content from the soil, then foods that are grown more conventionally. Conventionally or industrial farmed foods are often ground in what they called mono crops which means that a single crop is grown over and over again in very close proximity.

Fertilizer is used for a in the soil, at a very strong fertilizer is used in a soil and the plants are grown close together without a much access to sunlight. So their crops grow very quickly and very rapidly, but they are able to observe as many naturals and vitamins and minerals from the soil, because it's largely coming from the fertilizer.
