Are there cardiovascular benefits of Vitamin C? Sue Brennan: I want to discuss the cardiovascular benefits of an adequate supply of vitamin C. We’re trying to look at how to prevent hardening of the arteries, which is where the cholesterol is coming in to play in the cell lining of the arteries. Proper levels of vitamin C are very important in, what we call the endothelial area and also, there’ve been some studies showing that it can help raise the HDL level versus your LDL level and that’s a good balance.
