Are There Foods That Fight Cancer?

Donte Hamilton: Hi! I'm Donte Hamilton. I am 29-years-old from Cerritos, California, and I would like to know, are there foods that can help fight cancer, and if there are, what are they?

James Marshall: Donte that's an important question; we don't know. We have been looking for dietary practices and patterns that alter the risk of cancer for several years. At this point, our most consistent finding is that an excess of calories and excess of food intake is associated with increased risk. But the evidence is not very significant. We have hoped that a diet that's rich in fruits and vegetables and that's low in animal products would be protective and there's some evidence of that, but the evidence is not very strong.
