Hello! My name is Richard Calamatas and I’m an audio designer on Assassin’s Creed II. Today, I’m going to comment on the demo we’ve shown at TGS.
Ezio, is on his way to kill Emilio Barbario a titan of Venetian industry who’s true will is to control the entire city of Venice. Together, Ezio and the members of the Venetian Thieves Guild have planned the assassination of Emilio over the course of several years. As Ezio, who has been an integral part of this process, completing a series of missions to help assemble this plan. And now, you and the thieves are ready to strike Emilio.
In Assassin’s Creed II, the mission structure is unpredictable and you will go from a young foreign team to a master assassin, living through many incredible experiences in the process. My first objective is to go kill five archers that are guarding the palace in which my target is hiding.
Exploration of the city will be much more rewarding this time around. Searching for all the treasure and secret locations will add many extra hours of gameplay. Here, I can find money and inside a–
With the money I found, I can buy various weapons, armors and tools. There are multiple armor upgrades available during the game and many different types of weapons to buy with the money I earn, steal or loot. Let’s buy a smoke bomb.
While fighting enemies, I can use my smoke bomb to escape and encounter when things get a little too hot, especially when there is an agile type guarding group who has a built to run very fast and catch up to me. Now, let’s complete the first part of our mission.
Antonio, the thief leader, has asked me to dispatch the archers that are patrolling around the palace on the rooftops of nearby houses. We have many ways to kill enemies in Assassin’s Creed II. You’ve just seen the air assassinate.
And here, I’ve disarmed the guard and killed him with his own weapon.
We have many more types of weapons and with all the various hidden blade upgrades, players will have multiple ways to dispose of their targets.
Here’s one way to dispose off them. You can sneak up on your enemies and throw them off before they have time to call for help. Now that all the guards were on the palace have been killed, it’s time for me to sneak inside the palace and assassinate Emilio.
In Assassin’s Creed II, you can now pilot gandulas and even higher ship to travel to other locations effectively. As you can see in the top right corner, we’ve also included a database that gives you unique historical perspectives on all the key locations and characters you have encountered.
Now, I’m going to hire thieves and use them to lure up the guard’s position at the entrance of the palace.
I can then hide and wait for the right moment to move, thanks to my new friends.
My target is down below in the courtyard. I need to kill the guard on the roof here without alerting all the others which would cause my target to flee.
Ezio has some very good fist fighting skills and can literally beat up an enemy and throw them to the ground. You can then finish them off with the hidden blade.
Using the Eagle Vision, I found Emilio. He’s a dead man.
