Prognostic factors that are poor, lack of Joint attention by age four, lack of functional speech by age five, mental retardation as you would predict, outcomes worse, the presence of seizures, outcomes worse, co-morbid medical or psychiatric diagnosis, outcomes worse and severity of autistic symptoms, outcomes worse. And you would predict, better outcome is associated with high intelligence and with Asperger Syndrome, rather than Autism per say.
