So in this video I just want to explain a little bit about how an automatic sprinkler system works because when I was first getting into this business I really did know of people could install there on sprinkler systems. Because I did not really have a good grasp of all the steps that needed to be taken to install it and once I found out it is really not that hard. If you get the proper instructions so in a nutshell I just want to take you through a quick demonstration about how an automatic sprinkler system works and kind of the steps that you need to go through for to install an automatic sprinklers system.
Basically, the first thing you want to do, if you want to think about it is to start at the hose and basically that is where the water comes from. You are going to be tapping into a place where you outdoors service taps are with a hose connection so most hoses you should be able to screw off the lawn service tap and screw in are hose connection. Basically, from there the water is going to come and you are going to be able to have water access here but all the time.
But you are also going to have access going down to water your lawn. Now basically what is going to happen is you are going to attach your piece of pipe on to this piece here. Clamp it on and then the water is going to go into the ground where the pipe is. Now from that pipe is going to run from the hose to the hose connection down the pipe. The pipe is going to run into the ground where is going to be inside of a valve box. I am sure you have seen one of those before and basically what that does as it is sits on top of the swivel manifolds systems.
Now this swivel manifold system right here and it is already got some automatic valves attached and basically the pipe is going to run, the pipe that run into the ground from the hose connection is going to meet up with the swivel manifold system here. And you are going to use the clamp as well. You are going to put that on and then your water has access to all the different valves. Now each one of this valves represents a zone of sprinkler so you do not want to have enough water pressure to water your whole lawn at once unless you got a really small lawn.
So you are going to have to water in different zones and each one of these valves represents a different zone. Basically, these are orbit automatic valves and you are going to have to wires coming off of each of them and you are going to take one wire from each valve and you are going to wrap them together. And then you are going to connect that with the white wire from your multi strand wire and that is going to be your ground and you are going to use one of this wire connectors. Waterproof wire connectors to spin those together and that is going to be your ground.
Now the other strands of the wire are going to go on to the other wires coming from the valves so the leftover one that is not in the valve is going to connect to a strand of wire on here so you are going to strip off the wire. You are going to connect it there. Now where this wire goes after it is connected to the automatic sprinkler valves as it going to go over the timer so you are going to have to be able to run wire to the location that you want your timers. So whether is going to be on your basement or in your shed or in your garage. We just know where you want to have it so we can provide with enough wire to run that. You can put that underground or however you want to run it and then the timer is going to be set up to triggers these automatic valves and that is what is going to be turning on your sprinklers.
So the water is going to be regulated from these valves and is going to go from here. It is going to have a pipe running out to all the different sprinkler heads so when this valve is running it will have certain is on of sprinkler is running and that is basically it for an automatic sprinkler system. I hope that kind of gives you an idea of how an automatic sprinkler system works and to less you know that it is really not that complicated once you see how all the parts actually work together and kind of see that process map of how things happen.
