So, what is the difference between manual sprinkler system and an automatic sprinkler system? Well, with the manual sprinkler system, you turn the valves on and off by hand. So, there are no electric parts on this at all. Basically, when you want the sprinklers to turn on, you go turn on the valve at the end of however long you want the water for, just go crack that valve off. Now, this system is very easy to install and inexpensive and it is great if you are on a budget.
An automatic sprinkler system operates on timer. So, you basically just set what time that you want your sprinklers to come on and then you forget about it for the rest of the summer. It will come on the same time everyday if you want it to. Some of the great things about the automatic sprinkler system are that you can set it to come on to water at night. Now, that is a big deal because there are not so many people using water at night, so, your water pressure goes up which means that your system will give you maximum coverage and you will get the maximum effectiveness from your sprinkler system. Another great thing is that it is cooler at night than during the day, so you get less water evaporation so your watering is more effective and the other thing is, it works when you are on holidays. You do not have to worry about checking it. You do not have to worry about forgetting to turn off the sprinklers when you have turned them on. Basically, that just means less water used. You are only using the amount of water that you need and that translates into savings on your water bill.
