Really, the most important thing about in awning is to make sure you roll it back it when you are done with it and that it is not out in the elements in the wind because the framework can bend. So, it is important that you get it back in into position if you are going to leave or whatever but there is really the only other thing for awning care and maintenance was to keep all the joints oiled so it rolls out and rolls back in, you know, easily. You do not want to have to fight the awning. Also, if you can in the winter time if you are in a seasonal place or if not, you may not have to, to prevent this kind of tearing is to wrap it in the winter with plastic. So, it does not blow, just this part blowing all winter long. This particular awning is subject to, it is right on the water obviously, so therefore, it--there is quite a lot of wind. But really, rolling it in, rolling it out when you are not using it and keeping it oiled will, you know, really keep it--that is about as much maintenance as you can do and then obviously, replacing things when need be in terms of the mechanics.
