Veronica Barzellato: Baan Kata Villa one is in Phuket Island. It is in the very southern tip on the western side of the island. We just came from the landing where cars and vehicles park and we are going down this stairway that leads to the front entrance. Right now, it is quiet. At night, you get all the frogs and birds and all of these different sounds. I had to look forward because there are snakes here and I am scared to death of them.
At the entrance of this villa, there are two happy frogs praying. The Thai people do this in greeting or thank you, for hello, for respect. So, the frogs are doing this welcoming us into the villa.
The villa is made in typical Thai style where each room is a different building or each building houses are different part of the house with different functions.
Along with two other bedrooms, there is the master bedroom. We are going towards the living room-dining room which is a combination of living room and dining room terrace.
Now, we are continuing the same pathway that we started at the front gate and it leads all the way down to the swimming pool. And, down at the swimming pool level, there is also the study(ph) and a second bedroom.
Ann this outdoor room can be used for cocktails to watch the sunset where as I use it to do yoga in the morning.
This are the friendliest, the nicest, politest, most welcoming people that I have met than in many countries in a long, long time.
The houses look different. The boats are different. The little critters you see are totally different. I am scared once with them, but they are great and they just saw the whole trip was like going somewhere very, very different. They are beautiful and relaxing.
