The first step is you need to stretch. You need to know which muscles to stretch. Most importantly you need to know how to stretch, but essentially you need to know when to stretch. Knowing these you can stretch in just seconds, in fact 24 seconds to release muscle tension and to gain the flexibility that you want and need.
The second step is to strengthen the muscles. To strengthen the muscles you need to improve blood supply as well as the nerve supply. If you improve the blood and nerve supply to your muscles, you gain the functional strength very, very quickly. The strength that you gain from doing exercises helps to improve the capacity of strengthening the muscles. You need both, both and the functional strength. The difference is measured in huge amounts of pain.
The third step of course is to realign your spine. Normally thought of as an area that you have to see as a practitioner for, but there are some simple and easy techniques that you can use to create the various joint disfunctions that happen in your spine. You can then improve the function of the joint, you can get the moving it like a well oiled machine and when joints do this they encourage tropia, but also helps the muscles to relax as well as be strong. Your resistance of future back pain incidences becomes very, very small.
The four step is to rebalance your pelvis. This fourth step is the most important step. You pelvis is like the foundation area. So like a foundation to a house, if the foundation are strong everything else is that much better off. If you balance and your pelvis is right, you have great strength, you have perfect spinal health.
