Male1: Hey everybody, this week on BFX we are going to someone else’s backyard and learn of the mysterious art of movie combat.

Male1: That was fun. Well I am here with Justin Spurlock and John Source from West Haven Brooke.
Male2 Hello!
[laughing]
Male1: These guys are the absolute masters of no budget kung-fu. So I asked them to come on the show and share all their secrets. Here is a little sample pack of their work.

Male1: Now you know why I needed these guys on the show.
John, could you do the honor of spinning the wheel for me?
Male2: Absolutely!
Male1: Okay, sweet!

Male1: So, guys can you share with the Indy Mogulolers kind of the process that you go through when you are planning a fight scene.
Male3: What you see on your head put down on paper whether you right it out as shooting script or draw it out like complex style like story boards and then you go and you execute.
Male2: Know exactly what you are going to do before you get started because otherwise when you there on the scene and you have anything planned. You will end up with like a two second fight scene.
Male3: Utilize your talents. If you got a dude who can do a flip, just put it in there.
Male2: Holy shit! Did you hear it?
Male1: Yes
Male2: It was awesome! Do it again.
Male3: And which it brings up another topic, improvising is key. Do not be afraid to cut out anything that does not work. Put stuff in if you find out something works better.
Male4: Justin came up with this thing one time where we kind of number every single move, sounds like a rhythm. Justin actually count out loud while he is doing a shot and it will help us remember what moves to do and when to do them.
Male1: “One, two, three four, five, one, two, three, four five,” Counting out as you are rolling like roll action and one, two, three, four. It is like you create like a dance rhythm and everything is on the beat.
Male3: Most of our action scenes I had to say 95% is all hand held. We get the camera up in there, like make the camera like a third person involved on the fight. When we are doing like the counting like we are saying we are going to do a four moves in a shot like one, two, three, four, like if it goes face, pull back for two, stomach and then a kick. Move the camera like one, two, three, four.
When the camera sits still and there is action happening in front of it. It is not very interesting.
Male4: And like if the people are going like this, you should be spinning around like this.
Male1: The sound effects are really what is going to like sell everything.
Male3: It will be much more forgiving to watch if someone does not sell a hit, and you put in the punch sound effect and people will forgive you.
Male1: They want to hear people getting hurt.

Male4: Shadow 101; do not you try my 101 word.
Male1: If you are working on a project that requires a lot of painting or chemicals, do your brain cells a favor and wear a painters mask.
Male2: If you notice in the show when he says “Super Time Laps” that is not really not him that is me.
Male1: Easy, drink your water, because that what has happen to me. I am over accentuated, over pronounce the certain words and now I got a doctor maybe. Place it here.
