Another drill you can do with the balance beam. You have your hitter stand at the end of the board depending on how long your's is, depending on how many repetitions you will get out of this, but you can obviously do this with your whole team. You can get them in the line and just go through, so everybody gets a bunch of reps. But it generally is going to look like this. You want your hitter at the end of the board; they are in their stance, they are ready to hit. They are going to stride and load, take their swing. They are going to stuck through with the back-foot, find their balance and swing again.
And then if your board is long, you can obviously step through and this can be a continue activity as we go along, but the purpose of this is obviously to talk about what we did before with the balance, about good balance swinging through the baseball staying on balance, but that stepping through part of it makes a hitter. Again keep the weight on their balls or feet as they are walking and that step-through portion is, it helps them kind of find their balance quickly, get in that proper stride and load position, and go again.
And if you can repeat this continually, where kids can get pretty quick and go through this and be on balance and be proper they are going to pick up the swing fundamentals a lot quicker.
