At last I have found some info on how to build a Colt revolver! Great!! Have planned to do it for a very long time, but found that making the trigger guard out of wood would not go. Now I see you have done it on a model smaller than full size. But where did you find the measurements across such as the handle and backstrap? Sidewiew is OK from a photo... Are any movable parts ?

The term "carving" is generally used to refer to refining a shape out of a piece of wood, even if no actual carving as such is done. I suppose strictly you should say "sanding several pieces of wood down to the shape of a revolver", but that'd just take too long. My point is, even if the term is being misused, it's so widely misused it doesn't really matter. :)

Very Very Nice
But why do you call it carving, you used no classic carving tools (gouges, chisels, knives etc...) this is an excellent model building tutorial, not carving.
