Derrick Schommer: Welcome to the Sunday night shooter’s edition of Common Man Coctails, I’m your host Derrick Schommer. And today what we’re going to do is a submitted recipe by John and I’m not going to use his last name because I should not—that’s uncool if I don’t have permission and I forgot to. In what John said as here, trying to hold the bazooka Joe shooter. Bazooka Joe I’m sure you can make it a non-sugar if you just use more alcohol but it’s going to have a ½ ounce of Baileys Irish Cream of course because every shooter has to. We’re going to use some Blue curacao, ½ ounce, and a ½ ounce of Crème de Banane, one of life’s greatest gifts to alcohol—oh sorry. And I’m going to try to polish this off, this is—we had this forever. So we’re going to put all this inside of the shaker, we’ll use a lot of ice because I am hot. So we’re going to put ½ ounce of each into the shaker and we’ll shake it up. Now, do I have to put it in the air? I don’t know—I do best part of the recipes. It’s only three ingredients, I guess it might layer but that’s a different drink. Probably if you layer them, I think it would like a blue eyed blonde maybe. I don’t know if that has Bailey’s though. I can’t remember, I’ve had over a 100 recipes now, and if you’ve been watching with iTunes, you wont be able to go back all the way through every single episode, FYI because I have to so many episodes that they don’t know how to fit into the feed. So if you everyday to your everdaydrinkers.tv is in go all way back to the very beginning of life and honestly I don’t even go that far back because it’s sliught;y embarrassing to see yourself after a year or less actually of doing this and you sit in there and I have like three bottles of alcohol behind me, a lot has changed. So you can if you want to, go back and watch the original mai Thai I did whatever—and break anything. Let’s shake it up—I haven’t done this drink by the way. Sometimes I do them but when you do five a week, it’s a lot of alcohol. So some of them might just do it live because its kind of fun and you get see my reaction—all the—
Female: Thanks. That taste like bubble um, that’s cool.
Derrick Schommer: It could. Oh does it looks like bubble gum, not really—
Female: I thought it was pink.
Derrick Schommer: Bubble gum is pink because of red 40, there’s nothing in bubblegum that makes it pink.
Female: Bazooka Joe is pink.
Derrick Schommer: Okay, Bazzoka Joeis—that’s the one that hue in the little square, right when you have the comic around it and the yet—what was the feel with the three lines on it or the two lines that was—
Female: That was Bazooka Joe.
Derrick Schommer: I don’t understand the pattern. It must be bomb, bazooka? Anyway, there you go, that’s the Bazooka Joe, is baby blue, its very—it’s kind of like something you paint your new baby boy’s room color, very good, right? Smells like bananas. You really want to—oh wow, that’s awesome! You really want to switch that around because—oh look at that, how is that possible? The ½ ounce, that’s an ounce and ½. a magic in here, must be the ice melting. Here, give it a try, do it now because it’s just that cool. It’s not the start of the drink, the start of the drink you’re like oh it kind of taste kind of neat and flavorful, it’s the tail finish. You get that faky-fake pink bazooka jaw at the end like in the finish after finish because you’re not looking too convinced.
Female: No, I get bananas and Baileys.
Derrick Schommer: You’re getting banana and Baileys. You’re looking at the label, its all right.
Female: No, it’s what I’m getting.
Derrick Schommer: That is totally Bazooka Joe, you can’t remember—you know like it taste like not just Bazooka Joe but also the little—but that not plastic—not plastic but the piece of gum in the Tops baseball cards or wherever they were, none of it was Tops, all baseball cards and where, see it’s really hard and if after time and its gross. Except for the sand is gross, it’s got that artificial—I would say pink, it tastes like pink we taste because there was many pink it’s childhood memory. All I know is for me at least by tasting this I’m getting exactly on the tail end the Bazooka Joe taste. And I don’t think I’m not the only one that that recipe was named Bazooka Joe.
Female: No, it’s just me.
Derrick Schommer: Yes, you’re the only one. You just have done having that Bazooka Joe. I had tons—
Female: I had tons of Bazooka Joe.
