Male Speaker: Time for volley ball one-o-one with Coach Cindy.
Cindy: You are about to get a beach volley ball lesson with me. Coach Cindy volleyball one o one. So let's get started. Are you ready Chris.
Chris: Can't wait.
Cindy: First thing we are going to talk about today is a rule. Few year ago there was a rule change to make the game more exiting for you, we used to play on a court, that was 9 meters by 9 meters, now they made that court smaller, is now 8 meters by 8 meters on each side of the court, and that's so that's longer vallis and more excitement, a lot more playing for you the fans to watch.
On the beach, a block counts as a hit. Now remember you are only allowed three hits, so I if Capri gets up and blocks that ball and she touches it they only have 2 hit slap, 2 contacts on the ball to get the ball over the net. So let's have Capri and Lee's demonstrate this, how a block counts as a hit, you have 2 more contacts.
Block is one, a set as two and that ball has to go over the net, that's a third play good job girls. Okay, the next rule that we would going to talk about is tipping. On the beach tipping, like we do indoor with an open hand is illegal. There is a reason for that, we only have 2 people on the court, imagine how easy it would be to get up at that net, use your fingers and direct that ball were ever you wanted to go.
The set is the second contact, you make as team, you're setting the ball up for your partner to hit it, you can bump set it or you can set it with your hands we are going to focus on the hand setting right now. The biggest difference between indoor and the beach, is that your hand setting out here, we said that's set have to be butter. What that means is that they have got to come out clean, no spin, no double contact, no holding or lifting the ball, they are called much tighter out here the rest are much stricter. see you won't see a lot of players, setting with their hands too much because they gets caught so tough.
And we are going to have least demonstrate, and nice clean hand set for you,
That was a great set there, good contact, no double contact, no spin, now we are going to show you what about handset will look like, and this is skill is lot more difficult then at least they make in look right now. A lot of times you contact that ball just slightly off and that's going to make it spin and its that get going to get called that means a point for the other team that's a free point for them. So we are going to have the Lisa try to show us the bad set here. Watch the difference in the ball and how it's in the air. Good job.
So, on that one she would have got called on double contact, her hands were slightly uneven and that made the ball spin sideways.
