“BeejiveIM” is a multi-client instant messaging app for the iPhone and iPod Touch. This app allows you to connect over WiFi, 3G and Edge, along with being able to switch between those connection methods without running into issues. You can use AIM, iChat, MSN, Yahoo, Googletalk, ICQ, Jabber, and MyspaceIM with BeejiveIM.
Each profile will need to be configured separately to start. But once you register your account information, BeejiveIM allows you to do quite a bit. Each client that you establish will have its own functions that you can set. You could have each client app with a different away message or even have some set available while others are away. There is also the ability to control them all from the main accounts area, signing them all on, off, or setting their status at the same time.
You can chat with your buddies in both portrait and landscape mode. Landscape mode gives you a much bigger keyboard to work with. All of your chats are logged just like with your desktop client so you can easily review what you last spoke to your buddies about.
Two other great features that this app offers are the ability to separate your accounts by their proper buddy list and the ability to get push alerts. While the buddy list feature is self-explanatory, if you have any form of push mail set up on your iPhone, you can actually have BeejiveIM to send you a push alert when you receive a new message even after you signed off. While the app does not completely work in the background, it still keeps you connected on their servers for a little while longer after you close the app.
