Emily Chang: From the minute I walked in here I just felt instantly relaxed. It’s just gorgeous. So what is the philosophy here?
Paul Hawco: The philosophy is grounded in energy—story of energy which is compounded by being connected and deeply rooted to nature’s element—air, fire, water and wood. So those are engrained throughout the experiences and the facility.
The other one is our connection and dedication to our full commitments. So some of the things that you are feeling, you are seeing and you are sensing and smelling as well is for example our commitment to authentic experiences.
One of our founding philosophies, as well as being locally inspired and this spa as well as any of our spas actually you will get a sense that you know where you are. Bermuda of course is colonial British type of furnishings and décor.
Another commitment that we have that we’re quiet tied to is nurturing environment. At the pool while it is considered indoors had a very good sense of being outdoors, so it’s surrounded by lots of garden right through the other side of the pool reaction built the other wall over the corals.
Emily Chang: Okay, so I’ve left the boyfriend at the beach and I am here to indulge in the most luxurious experience that I can get, what would you recommend?
Paul Hawco: We actually include as much as the body which is the whole versus the part, I’d recommend our ultimate facials—it’s a 90-minute facial that starts at the feet and so we start with a foot bath, foot scrub, foot soak, foot massage. Bring it to the room for a 75-minute treatment of really, really exfoliating, deep cleansing and anti-aging treatment with caviar. This is our most exclusive line and treatment as the best. And so its very results oriented, it’s very pampering, it’s very relaxing.
We actually have a stretch relieve massage experience. And this one was founded based on lot of our guest feedback, as well as questions when they were having massage that they wanted their most stress tension points worked on and alleviated. So this massage actually incorporates only the back, neck, shoulders and scalp. Like all of our experiences however, they can be customized if you wanted to spend more time on one area or the other, or if you want your hand included.
Our Vishi rooms with Vishi table and a Vishi shower, so this is a 60-minute biotreatment where you actually have a vishi shower running down on you with water the entire time. It’s a little more aggressive, but it’s a very, very thorough treatment and we exfoliate the entire body with the sea salt scrub and a massage afterwards. You just come out of that and you can feel really, really renewed more than other treatment.
