Welcome to Cnet Top Five, where each time we meet we count down another hot Cnet list, I'm Tom Merritt. Time once again to take a look at the cream of the tech crop. Of the gear we've reviewed over the past three months, these are the very best as rated by our crack staff of Cnet reviewers. So, let's count them down.
At number five, the Energy Take Classic. For about 400 bucks, you get a beautiful set of 5.1 channel speakers and an outstanding 8 inch 200 watt powered subwoofer. The only negative is, you can’t buy an extra speaker and make it 6 or 7.1, but we still gave it an 8.5 out of 10.
Coming in at number four, the Audeo PFE 122 Perfect Fit earphones. Jasmine Franz points out that the base may not be thumping enough for some people, but other than that, these comfortable ear buds have great sound quality. And they come with or without a head set microphones. So price ranges from 130 bucks up to 150 bucks. Jasmine gave them an 8.5.
Up to number three, the Mirage Nanosat 5.1. Little pricier than the Energy Take, okay, actually twice the price of the Energy Take. But room filling sound that Steve Gothenburg called remarkably spacious. You can also get extra satellite speakers with this if you want them, and we gave it an 8.6 out of 10.
Sliding in at number two, the Samsung P3 media player. Bluetooth, touch screen, widgets, FM radio, voice recording, and more. It notably lacks wifi, but the sound quality more than made up for that. Jasmine Franz gave it an 8.7.
Before we get to number one, time for another lame prize. Tell us what the top rated video game from Gamespot was for the same three month period, hint, it got a 9.5. And you could get a copy of Mass Effect and 2008 Phyjoke wall calendar and a Cnet patch. Post your answer to this entry for this top five at our blog, blog.cnettv.com.
Alright, let's get to our number one. The best product we reviewed over the past three months. At number one, it the Zoom H4n. this is a portable recorder that Donald Bell absolutely raves about. Quality stereo mics, phantom power, four channels, what's not to love. Bulky, awkward, mini jack input, and weird mixer settings. But that’s not bad enough to stop Donald from giving it an 8.7.
Well that’s it for this edition of Cnet Top Five. Don’t forget be one of the first ten people to correctly tell us what the top rated game over the past three months was at blog.cnettv.com. And you could win the lame prizes. Thanks for watching. I'm Tom Merritt, see you next time.
