Everybody this is Brian Holman from Between Lex Zacka. Today, I am going to teach you a little bit about making up your own blues licks from the blue scale. And A blues scale is a pretty much the most popular scale you use for the blues and the great thing about it is you use this once scale to plow over all the changes. The entire time you plow over the same scale, so the scale in A. I am gong to show you that, it goes (guitar demonstration), and that is what end the entire scales and search the root, the flat turn, the fourth, the flat fifth, the blown off, the fifth, the flat seventh, the dominant, and then the root again, and it goes on a somewhat. So, you got your scale that is your first step and you need a pick some notes. You need to pick some notes that you are going to play. It is really, easy to really do that, I mean you can play around the notes at you can start off within the as you learn a little more about it. You will get a little picky about what you want to play and you know just kind a action you know what you want. Here is the example we got (guitar demonstration), I just made it up. It was just random notes and I made a sound all right it is little blend but it something similar (guitar demonstration) again, just a kind of displaying around notes from the scale and a also you can all use the same notes again or play the same notes twice as perfectly legit. As you pretty much pick out the notes that you want to play, you probably want to do with them with a little more rhythm, you do not want just play you know the you do not want to run up and down just like you like you want to run up and down the scale. So let us try something (guitar demonstration) I mean that is pretty sound. That is not too complicated at all. Sometimes maybe a little more complicated you could do something like (guitar demonstration) and I can play a little (guitar demonstration) right there, and I still styling add a little more style to it which is important thing. The next thing you really want to do is focus on really incorporating style and by style I mean bench I mean by brado I mean like double stops. Slides pull off hair on all of that staff. That style is add a little more flare to what you are playing. So you actually playing around the notes. Something save live a Baby King famous for one finger by brado you crazy shakes as hell out and something he can play maybe over like a minor blues that would be like this (guitar demonstration). Just very simple not really fancy but it does have a that style to it. Something Stevie Ray would play. He would roll into playing double stops big wide bench, drew famous for that. it is something like that be (guitar demonstration). Something like that is little more complicated but as you can see with just using that scale this using a little style you can make some really interesting in closing out in it. And then after you got all that down, you got you’re the right scale you’ve pictures no such you want to play you got rhythmic variation and you have some style to it. The thing you want to do that is probably the most important in my opinion is the most important is really having a style something that is really, I mean like style and you want to play with soul you really need soul. That is the most important thing. If you like the blues people plan I mean they just can like loss it all over and they start bass and autumn stage sometimes and that is because we were playing from the heart. It was with the motion and that is the most important thing hand down in the blues. Theses staff like (guitar demonstration) staff like that is not important when you can (guitar demonstration). You can really play something and put your good into it. I mean that is the most important thing so lets us round this back down. You pick your scale that is pretty that is whatever key here. You pick your notes that you want to play and you will better a title over time and then you will wanted definitely choose them better rhythmic variation and just you know that, that that this is boring. And then you want to play with some style and that is by brado in there you know then the notes you know mind you can scream a little bit and then he need to play with soul. That is the most important thing you really have to love the music you are playing and as of the blue is all about. So thank you for joining me today for this lesson.
