I always lower my seat before going down any technical steep section. As you approach any downhill, you need to scan the trail. Look for a line that seems to have the best traction and the least to matter rots. Be sure to look ahead as much as possible to make sure there is not any abrupt deep rots for a larger rocks at the end of your line.
Transition you wait from the 73rd the attack position to the back of the bike. Most of your weight will be behind the saddle at this point. Load your weight into your pedals which will force the tires in to the ground. Modulate your brace to keep from skidding. I like to look for a small jump like transition that I can use to actually jump over deeper rots.
Well that is it, I am Joey Lowell from Bike Skills. At little practice, you too, can tame any steep technical section.
