One of the best things about Blues guitars, it is seemingly endless permutations you can come up with against a simple one, four, five core progression. And this lesson assumes that you already know the basic one, four, five, and that you can do a five to six modulation . And with that in mind we are going to break out of that and start adding some seven chords and embellishing those seven chords to give our core progression more motion and give it a little bit more color.
So we will be doing this in G and the first chord we are going to take a look at is G7. We are going to bar all the way across all six strings with our first finger here is the third fret, we are going to add our third finger to the fifth fret of the fifth string and our second finger is going to go on the fourth fret of the third string. This time all six strings. So instead of just doing that again that five to six, let's look at some other ways that we can add motion to that chord.
The first and most obvious way is to hammer-on the major third, the major third you are doing here with your second finger here on the third string and what you are going to do is you are going to lift up, so you have a minor third, actually on the third fret of the third string. You are going to strung the chord and then hammer on really quickly that second finger onto the fourth fret of the third sting. What that does is that it creates a nice little bit attention that you can instantly result. And then you can instantly start working that into going between the five to six modulation and then hammering on that major third.
Hi! I am Scotty Moore. She came back with handing a slip of paper and I looked at it and I said, "Elvis Presley what kind of damn name is that?" So let's start with an A major chord for the first, actually the first four bars are really A and the A major chord in the fifth position, my first finger is barred across the top two strings, get that.
