Blues Double-Stop Organ Lick for Guitar
Hey guys it’s Will Kriski from Online Guitar Coaching. I wanted to show you a quick
lesson on a cool blues idea to double stop kind of a keyboard lick. I got this from Robert
Conty who’s a great Jazz guitar player and he thought about getting it from previous
organ players and stuff like that so for playing something C7 type thing in a blues. We’re
going to locate the 8th fret, E string and the 5th fret on the G string, okay.
Now that’s kind of our base. We’re going to go, we’re going to play these two together so
what I do is I use my ring and my pick so you kind of pitching together like this. It goes
down and your ring comes up.
[Demonstration]
Like that and then you go 4th fret on B string okay so slide it up to the 5th fret you play ll
these 2 together all these 2 notes E and B string. 6th, 7th fret and then E so it’s…
[Demonstration]
And then you go back to this one the C on the 5th fret and then you go from the 6th, 4th
and the B up to the E so you’re common bluesideas to go around the third the M 3rd of the
chord so…
[Demonstration]
You can do a quick slide so you could play around with this you can go so there I went
on the 7th fret on the D string that’s the A so here I hammer down from the 5th fret to 7th
on the G string.
[Demonstration]
There’s the 8th fret which is the Bb so if you’re not familiar you know, if you’re not
comfortable with this you might just get used to playing these two together and you can
go backwards.
[Demonstration]
Give that try and you can use it over use it over the whole progression just try playing
around with that let’s give that a try. Let me know how you like it.
