Blues Rock Guitar Tricks Lesson
Hey guys, that was a blues idea I did. So the first thing I’m doing was that double stop lick that I had organ lick that I had in the previous lesson. It was C in that case. This one is in key of D blues so---
So just move it up two frets. That’s kind of how I started. The other thing I do a lot is with the bend so I’m just doing D Minor pentatonic you should know that what’s at the 10th fret.
So I do a lot that kind of thing. So I’m bending the G, flat to an A, it was an A on the 10th fret on the second string. But the thing I’m doing is picking and using my ring finger, that’s the ring finger on the 10th fret. Then you can go…
Do the same thing on the second and first fret. So I’m using a lot of my ring fingers these days. The other thing is when you can have like a bar sort of an eagle step thing. But I use my pick in my ring finger, so take a fret on D string and then go for another on the G string.
[Demonstration]
So you can pick it but it sounds really great and you get a really good feeling with your right hand. The other thing I did was using open strings. So you just go up the scale, I’m using all natural notes so, I’m just going to point them out to you F, G, A, B, C, D fret, D. So it’s a---you can do a lot of different ways to do this but pull-off to the open.
[Demonstration]
You can a lot of pull-ups in here. So that’s how the G string, from 10th to 12th fret and just pull-off.
[Demonstration]
Try and incorporate open strings into the play.
[Demonstration]
And then finally, I’m not sure if I did this but, when you got your ring finger you can do strings skip in quite easily. If I go 10th, 12th, 13th I’m at G string, that just hammer-on's I can go up to the D on the 10th fret, on the E string. I used my ring finger so it’s—
[Demonstration]
Try to get some speed. So there you go. Try to get used to it using your ring finger and your pick. When people watch you, they a lot of times tell that you’re using your finger.
[Demonstration]
You can do that up here on the 15th fret. So there you go. So have fun with that and let me know how it goes. See you guys.
