Hi! Brad from Jamplay here.
I have some more licks for you. This one is going to be in the pentatonic scale or you can use the blues scale for this, anyway it's in the key of A minor and it's going to be to do with sliding. What we’re going to do here is we’re going to start out with the third fret on the sixth string. We’re going to play that note and we’re going to slide up to the fifth fret.
[Demonstration]
And we’ll do that one more time. After this, we’re going to play one note on the third fret on the fifth string, if all together it's going to sound like this.
[Demonstration]
You’re going to add a little bit of vibratoot to with your first finger if you’d like—
[Demonstration]
Let it sound a little bit more interesting.
Next, we’re going to go the fifth fret on the fifth string.
[Demonstration]
And we’re going to slide up to the seventh fret.
[Demonstration]
And we’ll do that one more time.
[Demonstration]
Next, we’re going to play a note on the fourth string, fifth fret.
[Demonstration]
All together, that sounds like this—
[Demonstration]
Now, I’m going to play that half of the lick all the way up to there starting at the third fret
[Demonstration]
Okay next part of the lick, we’re going to play a note on fifth fret on the fourth string and we’re going to slide up to the seventh fret.
[Demonstration]
You’re kind of getting the idea with what I’m going to do next because of the last two parts of it.
[Demonstration]
Yes, you’ve guessed it; I’m going to play the fifth fret on the third string.
[Demonstration]
And then the last note, we’re going to play the seventh fret on the fourth string
[Demonstration]
Now, let me just play the whole lick all together
[Demonstration]
One more time.
[Demonstration]
And one more time slowly.
[Demonstration]
There you have it, a blues lick using slide.
