In this Session number 11, we are going to touch on the couple of miscellaneous items including the ability to push a URL to a remote system and also a customer initiated file transfer.
So, we are beginning right here, we have a new direct client with a support request coming in, in my Executive Support Team. I am going to accept this connection request and so now I am looking at that remote system.
Okay, let me minimize the direct client for a moment and go over to the customer’s view of the word and this is where we get to the truly miscellaneous type things. There is kind of one little – of the system here and that when the customer or client first connects, the customer does not see an ability to originate a chat session with the user. So the interface is through this Bomgar dialogue that show in here and the user can actually get to the chat by hitting the maximize button and that simply makes it a little bigger and now the user has access to originate chat or to send a file, to originate a file.
So a more typical scenario, let me go and go back to minimizing this, would be for the support representative to originate the chat. So for instance we are now back in the – client interface and I can come over here to the cant messages and give him a standard greeting. Once I hit Send, as you can see, then the window on their side automatically maximizes and they can respond to me or they can send a file. Let us go ahead, the switch back over to the customer side of the world and minimize this thing in the background to see -- it looks better for your view. And of course the user can type in things like you know, I need to send that log file and say Send. And of course now the representative will see that.
Now on the user side, what they do is they click this SEND TO FILE button at the bottom, and they may navigate on their system in a typical fashion to the file that they want to send here. Here is the -- log file and we will send that and you share this file with the support graph rep. So let us switch back to the support rep view of the world and here is the incoming request. I can accept that log file or I can decline it. So let us go ahead and say accept, and I am going to save this incoming log file to my desktop. So they are able to progress indicator going in. The file now has been transferred to my local computer on the desktop. So, we have actually the couple of things a little bit about the chat and the need to maximize on the customer side. If they are going to originate it, once the rep originates it states maximize and you can chat to your hearts content. And then once it is maximized, of course then the user has the send file capability.
The other thing I want to do -- touch on here is the ability to push a URL to a user. So we minimize that, we are still working within the representative client interface and over here in the chat window, I can actually type in an http URL request or if my administrators have defined a URL as a key in the message, I can access it through the key in messages drop down.
So for instance, here is one called the Macromedia flash URL. When I click that key in message, it plugs in the URL. It sends that URL to the remote system, opens up their default browser and automatically navigates to the web page that you entered. So, this case the – these clients, the Adobe flash player is already installed. But if can capture the correct URL, you could go you navigate all the way to the download – and save you prop. I would like to say to you quite few steps if you routinely install software on your user system. I am thinking here about and not only things like the flash player but you, know other macro media thing, scale, go back to graphics plug ins. Here, various plug ins for a Mozilla Firefox and the latest – of Malaware for cleaning of spy ware. All those things are URLs that you probably know by heart and you are navigating them by taking them in to browser, well is not the easy thing to do is have them set up as can -- the messages and you just simply hit the little Push URL button in orde
