In this twelfth and final lesson, we are going to learn about the presentation capability that is a standard feature that is built in to the representative client. And again like many of the features of direct client, this is a privilege that can be established by the administrator. So if possible, if you may not be able to access the presentation capability, presentation has unique channels that allows you to do a presentation for multiple attendees, with no hard and fast limit to the number, it is a really network thing, but generally, our presentation is good for between 20 and 30 attendees all viewing your system.
Now, we are here in the direct client and I have enabled a presentation, quick start button, and so we fall on this for the moment, I need to establish a presentation, I can just go and hit that present button, give this presentation a name, Bomgar intro and say Start, and that brings me -- it opens up a presentation tab and brings me to it. And I can have attendees go to my website, and they just enter this session key, in fact let me just copy it and we will do that or I could e-mail an invitation to the attendees and then they would not have to type anything that you just click on the hyperlink to join my presentation
Let us return to our virtual machine for a moment, and we are here at the default support portal and I can do a PASTE of that presentation session key. Once I hit SUBMIT, it downloads the presentation client which you noticed a bit smaller than the normal customer client, so let us -- we will do the RUN to do the download and then RUN to actually run the application. And I need to enter a name, so it takes my default name of user01 which is good enough for me and now let us minimize this virtual machine and go back to the presentation tab.
Now we are not yet presenting the screen. So, once I hit this start presenting my screen, then now I am presenting the screen to that other system. So if you want to take one more peek at that we can go back over here as we march off into infinity because we are seeing our screen, seeing our screen and so forth. So let us minimize that, and once we are in a presentation, I will ask the presenter, I have the ability to choose which applications I would like to share.
So when I click on that button, it brings out all of the open applications. And by default it allows them to be shared and to be viewed along with any windows that I might open up on the fly. If these were a formal PowerPoint presentation or something like that, maybe I would choose to share only PowerPoint. So let me say OK to that. I am going to switch back to the session’s tab now, and you may have noticed that the present button also had to drop down so I could for instance by using the little drop down arrow, I could schedule a presentation for some future time. So I can think a some date in the future give it a -- test meeting, give the presentation a name, list some times there whenever I want it this. Let us make it a four hour marathon presentation.
And when I say CREATE, it creates and it put it on my schedule. I can then click on that and then see about the same type of e-mail invitation to the attendees or I could copy that and paste it in to an outlook invitation and record here, I need to do. And then at the appointed hour on the day arrives for me to do that presentation, I just need to click on the presentation and then hit the start button. I cannot start this one because I am actually in a presentation right now at the moment.
So that is how the presentation feature which as I have mentioned before is a standard part of the Bomgar remote support product.
