Hey, I’ve got a video of 40 here about the Bose Companion 2 desktop or computer speakers. The Companion 2 obviously means that there are two of them and these are the series 2. There have been series one obviously and there is series two. Series two really don’t look a whole lot different. I’ve never heard the series one so I don’t know if I did any changes as far as audio quality or information wise but they do look a little bit better as far as I’m concerned.
There’s a plug obviously the power. I believe only plugs in to one. I will take a look at the back and this one here that the top place is where you plug in your plug or the second speaker and the bottom one is the C power then you have regular RCA. You’ve got RCA audio here, red is the right speaker and white is the left speaker and you have two inputs for that and it comes with a “Y” cable. A “Y” cable is this on one end so you can plug it in to one of the inputs. Now on the other hand is your 3.5 millimeter headphone port which you can put it in your iPod and your laptop, your desktop computer, even your TV if your TV has an output of 3.5 millimeter.
Always then you can grab an adaptor which I might have in my desk here to adapt the 3.5 you can make it the big like the studio quality adaptor. So you can get one of those two and that will work. Again there are two inputs for “Y” cable or even with your DVD player you could get a RCA cord, this on one end, the RCA and then the same thing on the other end so then you could go find the output on that device and play even your TV here or your DVD player anything through these speakers.
This big hole here on the back is for bass and trust me if you have it up at a decent volume you’re definitely going to be feeling here out of this, it actually vibrates my whole desk if I would have pretty loud here. This is the front. It’s pretty clean, not a material that’s going to get dirty very easily unless you grab your hands on a lot. There’s a volume control just on this one speaker and then a place to put headphones that’s why I can plug in my Bose and ear headphones, great headphones. I have a review on this definitely I recommend them they’re about a hundred bucks. These speakers are about a hundred dollars for the two of them and I highly recommend them to and then you can use this volume control for your headphones and that will work on any kind of headphones.
Moving on over to the second speaker, it looks a lot about the same as the first one although it does not have volume or the headphone jack but that’s all right. In the back all you have is the bass port and this you can actually take it out. It is I suppose put in there is for good and then that goes into the output of 3.5 millimeter audio of the first speaker. So this, really you just put aside and listen to your right speaker audio from that. I suppose you could be a left wherever configuration you have. Anyways let’s listen to some music. How about we go over and listen to “Red, Red Wine” by Reggae Album. Then volume can be adjusted from your iPod or and you can overwrite that with the speaker volume here and they can go more than loud enough for what you’re going to listen to. I’m not the only one living in this house so I tried to keep it down for their comfort but if I’m here and there really isn’t anybody else I can turn it up and vibrate my whole of downstairs.
So they’re definitely based driven and I can feel the air come on out of the back of them which is a good sign, the speakers can breathe and let’s listen to all of the music here.
I don’t need it into any copyright issues so we’ll cut it there but from the side profile you could see my hand here at the same depth. They’re not invisibly big and they are kind of angled upwards so they’re going to just put them on your desk next to your computer or they’re really made for your computer but obviously you can play your iPod or anything with the output of the 3.5 millimeter headphone or RCA output.
They’re slanted upwards though so the speakers are pointing right towards you and they’re really isn’t going to be anything in the way which is good. From the front they’re pretty thin and if I put this down flat there you can tell that they do point up. From the top this front part kind of slides down and they’re made out of their heavy but they’re not ridiculously heavy and they feel like they’re very high quality which they are and I’ve been really happy with them. I’ve had them for a couple of months now and they’ve been worth everything here. They’re great.
Same design over here, really the only difference is the first one here has the inputs, the volume control and the headphone output and the second one you just kind of set aside and use that as you have your speaker but this is where everything is happening. So I’m definitely married to the Bose logo now after I started out my first Bose product of my inner headphones here and I move down of this great, these both everyday logo every moment of it and then this is my families here the iPod dock. I have a review on this so please check that up. Bose is definitely the most respected name in anything audio wise so. I definitely recommend all three of these Bose products, so really it’s just fantastic.
