Hi and welcome to Cajun Cooking TV. Tonight, we’re cooking a pork roast and we want to make a dry rub. So first we want to show you how to do it in this special video. Alright, we have Addison here helping us today. And, a dry rub consists of many of these ingredients but we are going to tell you if you want to add something else, you just go right ahead. So, Addison, are you ready to cook something?
What do we have here? Chili powder, my chili powder, we’ll let's snot use it. We’re going to put one tablespoon of each item. One chili powder, okay dump it in. Good job! Now, let's move on to the next one. What is this? A garlic powder, a garlic powder. I’ll pour and you can put it in, okay. One tablespoon, dump it in. Good job! Now, we’re moving on it. Alright, are you ready? This is some granulated onion powder. Pour that in. Oh, and we got some cayenne pepper here.
Well, be careful with this. We’re just going to use one teaspoon of this one. We don’t want it too hot. Let's find the teaspoon, Addison. Which one is it? This one right here. We’re going to use that one next. We got some ground mustard. Okay, let’s take your scoop. Yes, it’s yours, okay. Dump it in the bowl. Good job! Okay that’s one teaspoon and here we have some ground bay leaves, not the typical bay leaves that we use. Actually, this is ground up. Smell that. Let’s put one teaspoon on this. Dump it in. Oh, it’s getting colorful ain’t it Addison? Let's put this down. Oh, now we got to get some black pepper. I hope we don’t start sneezing. Where is that tablespoon? Here we go. Let me pour it. What is that called? Black pepper. Can you say black pepper? You’ll pour it? She wants to smell it. There we go. And then, you need a little bit of sugar.
We’re going to make some pork that’s almost like a barbeque. Look how colorful it is! I get a big scoop here of sugar. Okay, stir it up. We got a chef in training here. Can I help you? Oh, I can I have your little spoon then. Oh, look at that. This is going to be the dry rubs and we are going to use this on a Boston butt pork roast but you can certainly use this on baby back ribs or any other sort of pork loin or things like that. This is going to be yummy.
