Hi! I am Richie Wolfe. I am a bowling ball technician. We are here for a basic introduction to bowling. What I am going to discuss with you is some simple bowling etiquette. Now, before you pick that bowl up off the rack, one thing I want to make sure you do is keep your hands clear of this spinning wheel. This is where what we call the ball return. That ball will come up out of there.
Now, keep your hands away. There is simply a spinning wheel down there; you would not want to get your hands caught. The other thing is a simple common sense rule, once again, you primarily would not let the person one lane to the right and one lane to left if you bowl.
Now, it does not mean there is no rules here. This is just common courtesy. Simply because we would not want to be bowling next to somebody at the same time, the ball slip out of their hand and calls a little trouble we do not, that we don t need to happen. The other thing you want to make sure is you do not cross over that foul line.
Cross the foul line there is conditioner on the lane therefore, it could become very slippery. If you have a problem or question, some goes out there, just simply call an attendant and they will be happy to help you out. Now, like we spoke about the lane, we did speak about the arrows and the dots, before we pick up that ball l am going to simply give you an idea of what we are trying to do.
Each dot will correlate with an arrow out there on the lane. For example, we have got the first dot here, the farthest to the right on the approach which is called the fifth board or the first dot on the lane. We go across this will be the second dot. Tenth board correlates with the second arrow. Straight across the lane here, fifteenth correlates with the third arrow or the fifteenth board and then we get into the center which is the twentieth board or the fourth arrow.
Now, once we get started, we are going to go ahead and pick up this ball. So, we are going to go with two hands, we are going to pick the ball up, we are going to cradle it on the opposite of your bowling hand. Now, we talked about those arrows and dots on the lane. A good starting point is obviously, right in the center.
So, what I am going to do is I am going to place my right foot right on that center dot which is also called the, that is right, 20 board or the fourth arrow. Now, I am going to discuss with you bowling stands and push away. So, let you us get started, next clip.
