The guard position is a position where you know Angelica has her legs wrapped around her opponent. In this position here she can use her legs to push her opponent back. Here Georgia has put on an arm bar from that protected position. She's also doing a choke from that protected position.

The half guard position is one that can be used also for submission. See, she's doing again a Guillotine Choke there. It's used as a transition position actually. The opponent gets a half way out of the guard and the guy in the bottom instead of allowing him to get out completely, she wraps her legs around her one leg. So that's called the half guard position.

This is called the cross-body position, very, very popular position. It's good to set up a numerous submissions. What's dangerous about this position is when she has attained this position she can control her opponent and she will do a transition into we called the mounted position where she's on right now. It's an offensive and dominant position. In a street fight it's probably the worst place to be if you are Angelica on the ground, on the back.
