Kimberley: Today’s exercise is breaststroke on the stability ball. So, you want to start with the ball sort of forward on the neck and where you are going to put your body on the ball is between the ribs and the ASIS and it’s not directly on top of the apex, it’s sort of diagonal. She is like aching to get on that ball. Then you stretch your legs long and flex your feet, you want your feet on the mat or a sticky mat, squeeze those legs together and hence start on the ball and then go from the floor to the ball so that you are stabilized, squeeze those gluteus, pull the abs in and here we go, exhale reach both arms forward and inhale coming up thoracic extension and exhale reach forward and inhale coming up.
So, thoracic means the ribcage up no lumbar and exhale reach forward and inhale up. Always be careful of neck placement, because you don’t want to overextend your cervical spine or your neck when you come up and let’s see two more exhale, now also the tendency here is suppress into the ball with your abs, don’t do that, keep your abs playing in and last time inhale up and then hands come back to the ball for stability and you can bend your knees and come right out of the exercise, thank you, and you can stretch obviously and that is breast stroke using the stability ball.
