David: I am David Epstein and this is Growing Wisdom. We have a client that just for the pool end but there is no landscaping around it. So, we work with the designer to create the design and now we are installing the designs. We need to repair the lawn, we also need to get some plants around the fence area because the fence really stand out and I want a hide depth fence with the series of gardens and make this pool really welcoming. We are also going to put in some really neat stone steps. So, I have brought you to the area with the stairs will eventually be. This is a big hill here getting up to the pool, so we go from the house we will come through some stairs here and then we are going to go up to the pool area where they just put the deck end.
Notice there is no plants around the pool. There is no lawn around the pool. We have got to get some sod in there. We are also going to put some small trees, shrubs, also sorts of step. This entire area is going to look completely different in just a short period of time. So, since we last to look at the area around the pool, a lot has happened. We have done some grating. We have taken out some of the poor soil. We have brought in some good new loam. We have begun to build some wonderful stairs out of a natural stone and we have already done some plantings. So, let us go and take a look.
Josh, you are doing a stone work on this particular area right now, so tell me a little bit about what we are using and how we are doing this.
Josh: We are taking stone stairs such as natural stone blocks three to four foot of a regular shapes, we are trying to match the landscape which already a stone boulders and stone attributes in the pool deck itself. We are trying to pick the flattest widest area of stone for people stand on and the outside of each stone ungulate in and out for planting purposes.
David: When you are plating, it is important that plant and water, so we get the water going on the other side from what we have already planted this geyser hard at work. It is coming together pretty nicely. So, one of my favorite things about this plan was putting in tree on the inside of the fence, remember we e wanted to try to hide this fence. So we have put the tree very close to the decking, it has plenty of room to grow and it is going to grow right through chain links of the fence. And really begin to hide it. And how many times you see a tree inside of a pool deck? This really gives a nice garden feeling.
Well, welcome back and it is been a few months actually since we have first started filming this video. We wanted to accomplish several goals. The fence wanted to be hidden a little bit. We wanted to create some nice grass around the pool to really give it a feeling of being in nature. We wanted to put some of the trees really close to the fence to hide the fence. We wanted to have some flowering trees and shrubs giving a little bit of interest throughout the season. And also creating this wonderful stone steps that really gives a natural feeling coming form the house right up into the pool. So I think our job here is done. We want you to come back every week for all of sour tips and helps here at growingwisdom.com.
