Hi everybody, this is Tim Schaeffer from double fine productions makers of Brutal Legend. We’re going to be showing you a little bit more of the game today. Like that other commentary video I did but this one is not going to suck because I have back up today. We have our lead designer Erick Robson.
Hi, folks.
Hello. And we have our director Lee Penny.
Hi.
We’re going to drive to the head banger mines for our ammunition but first we’re going to check out some of the landscape along with. It’s very nice. What’s that -- that -- what did I do? Erick?
That looks like it’s pointing out on a location of the next mission, Tim.
Now, I am just driving this right now but they seem to be a little lost. I think they are looking for their car. I think they’re looking for their car.
I think they're just admiring the beauty of the art now.
Yes. There’s a little bit of mouth rock more up there in the corner. Oh this is showing how in brutal legend you can play guitar solos to do extra thing like summon your car up there which will hold you drive around the awesome landscape. We have like 64 square kilometers of world to explore and a world to explore and what’s the area we’re driving to now?
We’re driving in a field in front of an area known as Blade Hedge engine. This area I think has lots of remnants of the ancient race of titans left over. There’s this giant eroding swords and there’s an exhaust pipe trees, who are driving by and I think this is a really cool are because you get to see the jet’s position of like modern looking assault road with sort of ancient fantasy looking elements.
You said the juxtaposition which really jacks position which really racks up the level or read a quarter that they're using in this.
Yes, I have three words I use like that. People should be ready with some of the great pair of down shifts. Now, the person operating the controls here obviously screwed up and hit the tree. So we’re going to look to some of the tire. No we’re not. We’re just going to keep going.
Oh man, that thing is so cool than we’re just driving under the --
Yes, as an ancient Indian blocks that sort of a part of a landscape that’s been re-road it over time to review. And that is of the different layers of the civilization on the video. There are natures of titans that make things of giant high ways. There are also modern people here like these people built this campfire and made graffiti. I like to think they're actually large themselves painted that little --. It hasn’t really been that successful in getting that people to join as our muse well, it is him and his sisters. So it’s either him or his sister that paint in that.
So the best place is to hang out is not the bridges.
But there’s always something that Eddie could do to help Laurice to build an army.
Oh what a great segway into -- there’s a lot of -- for themselves. He is the mission contact. You can talk to mission contacts like Laurice.
I don’t even mention the bug I thought it and its cuts thing. And I’d respectfully. Here, you can pick whether you start the mission now or like --
Now, and he learned the new guitar solo from the battle cry which he can play to motivate troops who are unmotivated, summon the battle cry of the titans.
So, this is where Eddie has to go into these mines and rescue all the head bangers that are being kidnapped by General --. General -- is the leader -- militia who’s been helping the demons oppress the rest of humanity. And there are some of those miners who are working here.
This is one of the first times the players really get to see kind of what the strata, the brutal earth looks like. You can see that down in the -- throughout the walls, there are all sorts of auto parts and other right elements that are sort of like embedded like fossils there.
Yes, because the Titans buried all these things, for people to find and dig up but the idea is kind of that the demons would dig them up but they only care about the leather on like the seats of the cars and General -- only cares about the mirrors from the cars. So, they aren’t really using them the way that anyone wants to.
And there’s this cool idea that some Titans are still in the center of the earth building new layers into the --
Oh, you got to listen to this. That’s the hog Alfred screaming motivational slogans in the form of General --. Positive attitude. Yes. One of my favorites. Sounds like a lot in the office in that voice. That’s who played General -- It’s one of the two characters who play in the game. So the player has figured out how to motivate these lost souls down here by playing the battle cry.
Alright so this has caused this riff in the labor force. He has motivated the head bangers to join him but the guys were a little more into their hair. Or really kind of -- they kind of like the comfortable gig they have and they don’t want to leave.
What is this Harry?
So this is our introduction to some of the basic squad commands. So there you go follow and had issues orders to all the squads around them and then they will follow those orders.
And then they will attack enemies that come near or things that piss them off like the statute.
Right. They are pretty smart about --
Tends to be the jackpot, does the voice Eddie -- have you listen that in the last five minutes.
I don’t think that has ever been mentioned. That’s exclusive.
Yes, exclusive to this commentary. It’s rumored that this game is based on heavy metal as well.
I just think this part shows -- his acting is really good and the animations that went along with it.
So here we got, he’s going to get followed, bring him back to his area and they are going to go ahead and take care of the statue.
Why are there so much swearing in the game?
You know, I mean why are there so much swearing in life and heavy metal and the other question is does statute has actually have gems for nipples which --
Let’s stay focused, that was the charge command.
