Kelly McCann: Jugular notch control technique. It could be for someone who is mildly combative. Remember too that you are always looking for weapons. So I mean, if the guy gets close to your, I am not looking in his eyes like martial arts, it's like seeing all the answers in the eyes. Thus promotes a little to make you think that you are friends while they are palming a knife.
So I am going to forget about his eyes. It also makes you look kind of diminutive. So it's given power to him, you are not challenging. I will drop my chin and bring my hands up, which by the way is how we fight, right like this. We don't fight like this. So I have got a challenge and just spurred him on to something, but I am checking him for weapons. I am looking at his belt line; I am looking at his pocket rims for knives. I am making sure, I can see his palms. I am making sure nothing is behind his leg. And once I am pretty sure that all it is, is him, then I can go okay, I want to control this guy, and let's see what happens next.
So as soon as he grabs me again here, I don't want that other hand to happen which is normally, probably he just grabs you right from one end. So as soon as that hand hits here, I am in motion and I am going right to the jugular notch which is the hole that God gave you. You can put your finger in there, you can put Kubotan there, you can put an asp in there, you put -- in there and it just fits great. So all I am going to do is take in my hand like a great fruit.
Robert W. Young: A thumb works here?
Kelly McCann: Anything, but the thing about a thumb is, now you have to do a fine amount of manipulation. I am trying to get this thumb and then throw all the fingers. One of them will get in there. Hopefully, two or three, they will fold in. and then once you are inside here, you notice the shrug. The worst car crash in the world is when you make thick impact head-on. A motion here, a motion here. So I don't want him to back up and delete my power. I don't want to do it static. What I want to do is I want to shrug and pull him, jerk him at the same time I am pushing power into his neck. So it's here.
Then instead of pushing straight which creates a sheer action. You will see he will bend it back and my hand loses power. You've got to go in behind the notch and down. Then I am going to manipulate his elbow.
Now I can figure it out. He tries to do anything like I just used this. I have got good control on his elbow. I can decide what to do with him. And I haven't hurt him bad. He thinks he has been hurt, and that's pain of vein technique. Create pain, Oh! They try to get away from you.
