A major construction portion of my side yard garden is complete, and now I can really bring my garden to life by installing of water filter. I am using easy to find material readily available at your local building supply.
Earlier, I fill this raised bed about halfway with stone dust, leftover from my caving project. Now, I dig a hole for the bottom of the pond. Once I get the pond liner stable and level, I can add in the soil, which is I backfill tightly around the pond liner.
Next, I place in Pennsylvania field stone around the edge to give it a more natural level. Now, I am going to setup a comp, and my filter just put in to my pond. There is a little pump here, it is a little fountain pump. I just need something to circulate the water and this is going to circulate between 40 and 80 gallons per hour, so it is perfect for this size.
Now, for one of my tubing, I am going to need to clamp it on. So, I got these little clamps that already has the screw through in it. As you turn it, it gets tighter, so I am just going to put on this, you can take the screw drive, and screw it tightly. I put in about 1 to 2 inches of gravel in the bottom of the pot, and I am going to now take the pump, and place it in there, kind of make it kind of long for right now.
Now, I am going to finish filling the pot with gravel. I have the other end of the rubber hose, and I am going to put clamp on it, and put that on this little frog here. Okay, this whole frog is going to sit right here.
So, I got my pump in my little filter system which is just a pot with gravel in it and then, I have my little frog that is going to spit out the nice clean water in to the pond. All I have to do now is to fill up my pond.
With this project, I have sweet potato vine, mint, the too thick plant, some, yellow rope, a bush, and a plant. I also have a variety of water irises for the pond. So, get to the store and buy your pond, and start drying your plants for your water feature today.
I am Patti Moreno, the garden girl, thanks for watching.
