Welcome to the Sunday night shoot to this edition of Common Man Cocktails, I’m your host Derrick Schommer and today were going to do a user requested recipe this is called “Butter Be Good” and I had to go out and buy something special I bought this crazy stuff here this is called “Bear in the Ager”. It’s a German drink it’s “Bear in the Ager” means bear hunter unless my translation in then done enough during that I could probably also figure out just by the picture it’s kind of a little hunter and bear.
This is a honey liqueur pretty sweet it’s kind of cool, were going to layer this drinks, this is another puss café style drink. So were going to use the honey, which is going to be layered on top of some butterscotch schnapps floated with baileys on top. Again with the baileys in this drink, this is going to be kind of any again I haven’t had this. So I have no idea what I’m going to expect doing this life for the first time.
So what were going to do is pour in butterscotch snaps first this is the butter snaps burst and I guess we take the butter in spoon. And then with the spoon, spoon some flat area or very, very careful concentration. You’re going to put the “Bear in the Ager” on top.
Now I think this layer is super cool if that can be a word I can use right now and not sound to dorky.
Oh, fine control look at that, I’ve only had a zip of the “Bear in the Ager” and it is like herbal honey, all right so we got two let’s float this bailey’s right on top hopefully. Baileys used all – it must be super, super light because I’ve never seen baileys under anything else. Not that it won’t be in the future I’m sure I’ll find something.
It does make a good entry into the pallet, nice cream coating. We complain with that, there you go check it out, oh, that’s the first. Think if you could see it, I don’t know if you see it on this specific shot but I actually have a single dog stuck in there. As long as you have any pets somehow he got in, he’s a little doggy are suspended right in the middle.
Great, this could be an awesome one but what you could see anyway is that there is a distinct line between all three of them it’s as if this was another cup on top of it so that’s kind of neat. Over all good presentation, I like to clear in the bottom and then the floated top. I’m going to try and drink this without sucking down on any foreign objects, but who knows?
There wasn’t a bad dog here. It’s like a candy of some type I’d laid out your right I don’t really get the butter scotch does not over power this drink. They’ll kind of over power each other at the same, same level. Typically, what I have seen is any time you add butterscotch burst is what you’re getting is effectively a word that is original candy. No matter what you’re, stick it in, which is good I like those.
But this your getting a little honey, a lot of baileys after taste, a little burn even it’s a very good marriage I’m surprised and you can actually if you buy the “Bear in the Ager” they come with this little tags in the side. That it has in here the “Butter Be Good” recipe right they even have a cool little picture of what it should like in your glass if you have a cordial glass, I don’t.
So if you just pick that up you find the recipe right in there but I don’t know why you wouldn’t just watch the video to find it. So there you go, that is all gone.
