Callpod Dragon V2 Bluetooth Headset Review
Tiffany: Hi, there and welcome to Neo-Fight.Tv, the technology shows for the not so geeky. My name is Tiffany Young.
Ben: And I’m Ben Freedman and today on the show we are reviewing this. This is the Callpod Dragon Bluetooth Headset.
Tiffany: Huge.
Ben: No it’s not that huge. It’s not too bad of the side. You know what two years ago, when you had like something like this hanging up the side of your face then you would look to this and said this looks funny.
Tiffany: Two years ago, yes back—you know when cell phones are blocks and you know technologies coming for instance so—
Ben: They actually have whole cell phone you know something the size of the whole phone. Hey you like my hands free kit? Isn’t that great? You know, you just have like duct tape inside your head.
Tiffany: So they must have this and really special features about this in it?
Ben: Well—
Tiffany: That make up of course.
Ben: Allow me to put it on here and model it.
Tiffany: Ordain to it size.
Ben: So just don’t beg even on.
Tiffany: Not on your ear.
Ben: No, my big ear is that what you’re saying. Do you think I have big ears?
Tiffany: Did I tell you that your ears never stop growing, did you know that?
Ben: No and I don’t. My ears have been this size for a long time.
Tiffany: They’re going to get bigger.
Ben: So let me tell you, the great thing about this is its range. This thing has like a 100 foot range. I could take this and I could put my cellphone charging, walk all over my house. It still has a signal. I go upstairs, in my office. If you have an office so you have conference room. You can leave your cellphone in charger walk all over your office and still have a good range.
Tiffany: That is a nice feature.
Ben: It is a nice feature.
Tiffany: So the range is what makes up for the bigger size then that is what you think?
Ben: I think that is what it is. It’s big the size, bigger range. You know I’ve tried a couple the other ones like the job on and the other couple the other one and a much, much smaller and discreet.
Tiffany: Right.
Ben: But, you know you walk more than two or three feet like unless your cellphone is on your hip, you walk a few feet away then instantly start hearing static.
Tiffany: You know they remind me a little bit is a Plantronics because it has a very good range but it’s also big but has also had that stereo headset and any of this.
Ben: You like the Plantronics.
Tiffany: It’s a 590P, yeah and then wouldn’t work. I mean I don’t wear it out.
Ben: This is a lot cheaper than that, this is 60 bucks and it’s not very expensive but my problem is—you know the question I always have is you know will I keep using it and the problem is this, I had more people complain about the voice quality with this. Not about the range but they literally just could not understand what I was saying and so I love the idea of it. I’m hoping—I don’t know maybe something wrong with this one. I was using with my iPhone, have fantastic range but a lot of people ask me to repeat myself and then when I would—they couldn’t hear me out I have to go back to my phone, switch back over the phone and say how is that and then would instantly tell me wow that just so much better.
Tiffany: So what worst that you know how a lot of this have the—you know little something that comes out, the kind of points towards your job or at this direction but I guess since its round it’s like what part of that actually points to your—
Ben: All it is a little mic round at the front here and if you can see this little hole and that is—now, there are two microphones on here. It supposed to cancel noise. So if you’re in the car, it’s supposed to reduce the amount of noise that you have in the car.
Tiffany: You hear so—
Ben: Or no the other person hear.
Tiffany: Really?
Ben: But my problem is I did this in my office in a fairly quiet location and they still couldn’t really make out what I was saying.
Tiffany: So probably not worth $60.00?
Ben: If they could fix that problem I love the range. The range was awesome.
Tiffany: And you don’t mind the size?
Ben: I don’t mind the size. So I give this unfortunate two out of the five. I give five out of five it just work better sound quality because I love the range and if did not the range either it will be zero. Zero to five but it has that great range and if they could figure out how to get that voice quality bit working that will be awesome.
Tiffany: Okay so, I’m going to give a one out of five and yeah. First of all I want—I mean this is literally the size of my ear. I got this little tiny dwarf ears.
Ben: Should call part be punished but if you have dwarf ears.
Tiffany: Well, you know if I’m the consumer right and a lot of women are consumers of course you know I kind of purchase this so I ought to know if its, I would never wear that out. It is just not fashionable at all. I do like the effect that it switches, you can do right to your left ear so you can take it out and—
Ben: That’s true I like that too.
Tiffany: But the very fact that it doesn’t work well is obviously there’s no point spending money on that at all.
Ben: One of the five for Tiffany, two out of the five for me that is a mere three out of 10 for the Callpod Dragon Bluetooth headset, probably not the best product.
Tiffany: So far—unless there’s something wrong with that, take it away.
Ben: Good potential.
Tiffany: Yeah.
Ben: And if you have an extra—actually we have another review to come up right on this so please stay tuned.
And we are back and in the second spotlight today we’re going to stay with the Bluetooth—
Tiffany: Theme?
Ben: But its part—I think it’s actually a lot better than that last product so the one that we’ve reviewed and this is the VR3 car Hands Free system. So you buy this guy the rechargeable batteries charges by USB. So you can take it in, plug it in to your computer if you’re traveling whatever. You know if you’re going somewhere where you’re going to be renting a car and you still want to be hands free you can just charge it from your computer.
Tiffany: Or in your car, you know if you have the USB adaptor for your car?
Ben: You do and it comes with that so that’s great. Basically stick find your adviser like this and it has a little pop down screen like so—yes isn’t that cool and if you can see a little screen onto there—
Tiffany: Great sign.
Ben: And that screen shows you the phone number who was calling so that way you can choose without having to look at your phone you’re still looking straight ahead, you glance off the device here and you can tell exactly who was calling.
Tiffany: So I have a question about that. One was I noticed a number—the telephone number comes out, do you want me to call you?
Ben: Yeah sure.
Tiffany: Okay. So I notice the number comes out however I’ve got your programmed in my cellphone of course and you know this been out.
Ben: I don’t think it comes up with the person’s name. It comes up with caller ID phone number. You see your phone doesn’t come up with the name. Your phone comes up with the number and it goes to its data base to find the name.
Tiffany: It’s almost like—
Ben: Do you hear its ringing here? And here is for me like I will answer it here and your phone number comes up on that.
Tiffany: Yeah, so I don’t know about you but I have to look to people’s numbers and quite along long time.
Ben: Right.
Tiffany: Because you know they’re programmed. So I don’t have everybody’s number memorize so—
Ben: Well that is true. So if you don’t have the number memorize, you don’t know the number you still have to look over your phone because it doesn’t come up with you know been cellphone or looking cellphone, it just comes up with the number because it’s the phone that does that interpolation for you.
Tiffany: Can you program means in there?
Ben: That’s a good a question. I know you can transfer your phonebook over but I don’t know if you can transfer the names.
Tiffany: I bet you can if they has a—
Ben: Maybe you can. It does have the ability to again you know put the phone numbers and stuff in. You know for instance so here is you know a phone number that someone is coming to here but it doesn’t have a name its just the number that came up.
Tiffany: Right.
Ben: But you I got to tell you, I will forgive it for not having every feature under the sun because you know how much this $30.00 is.
Tiffany: Wow.
Ben: So for someone who is looking for a simple—I don’t know in some states now by law, got a lot to make phone calls in the car.
Tiffany: California. My sister got to take it.
Ben: Oh goodness.
Tiffany: Can you believe it? She was curious.
Ben: Yeah, it will stand by for days without running the batteries down. So if you forget to turn it off—
Tiffany: This is pretty good quality too. I mean that’s very impressive for $30.00
Ben: 30 bucks amazing.
Tiffany: And I love this.
Ben: You can get on Amazon, put down the screen and if it turn on and off every time you get in the car that’s great but if you even just leave it on, you know once a week or once or twice a week to charge it up and you’re done.
Tiffany: Oh like that they a quick start pairing on the back.
Ben: It is nice for me having the instructions on.
Tiffany: Because I don’t know how many times if I have to look up pairing guides when I forgot and how to pair certain device and that is nice a bit to stick on there so—yeah nice, nice device.
Ben: It is a nice device. Its pretty good sound quality, again its not as good as some of the $100.00 devices that we’ve reviewed but for 30 bucks it’s a great solution and you know I have a few conversation on it in the car, on the highway. You know pretty good. I mean not as good as holding the phone to your head.
Tiffany: Well—
Ben: What do you want people? Not holding the phone to your head but you can all the phone to your head.
Tiffany: We are that just much further from brain cancer.
Ben: So it’s all a good point. So recharged, hit the button or hit it on your cellphone and again whom you’re talking.
Tiffany: Well, I would like to see that somehow, someway it can come up with the names and that way I mean for me kind of—it needs a purpose of having a device or look at the device and the phone and you’re taking your eyes off the road. So—
Ben: And I know 100% that it doesn’t do that so I don’t what to say it doesn’t, I don’t—
Tiffany: Well then I wont dock it if I was going to give a point for that but if were not sure so a five out of five and—
Ben: Yeah I give it a five out of five. It’s not the best voice quality.
Tiffany: Its $30.00
Ben: But its 30 bucks and you know so that kind of price I’m willing to forgive it you know a little bit of voice quality when—
Tiffany: Its amazing a price works that way huh?
Ben: Yeah, while you go get what you need.
Tiffany: I had an expectation that was $500.00.
Ben: Well exactly if you want it, if you got the money and you want to spend a 100 or $200.00 on some that are really high in side, the separate microphone and all that sort of stuff then you can but if you just want to spend 30 bucks so you can be safe while on the road, you know that’s a pretty good investment.
Tiffany: It works plus, I think its 90 in California so—
Ben: Well.
Tiffany: Yeah, expensive.
Ben: Your sister.
Tiffany: Pay for that three times. So good work.
Ben: So that is five out of five for Tiffany and five out of five for me for the VR3 Bluetooth headset Bluetooth hands free car it’s a headset, car and the system.
Tiffany: Speaker phone.
Ben: Yeah, that what it is.
Tiffany: I like the LED too.
Ben: Yeah.
Tiffany: So now what do you think? Do you use, California people what are you doing for you cars?
Ben: Let us know.
Tiffany: Yeah.
Ben: Go to www.neo-fight.TV leave us a comment. We want to hear from you.
Tiffany: We do.
Ben: And if you have an extra 30 seconds, take a look at this.
