I am Steve Durano. Welcome to this episode of Body Performance. A lot of people are worry about starting a cardiovascular program, a weight training program and a diet at the same time. Well, my suggestion is that you should start all these all at once. A lot of ladies are saying “Hey, Steve should I wait to start my weight training program? Should I work on my cardio first and then hit the gym?” Absolutely not.
Additional weight training will firm your body and burn additional calories helping you to create that necessary calorie deficit for weight loss. A guy is always worried about doing the cardio because they do not want to loss muscle mass and I am going to tell you it will not happen as long as you are eating enough. Now, that sort of sounds like opposite information, but here is one, when guys are in contest condition, meaning they are getting ready for body building show, they are times to diminish the amount of body fat they have significantly beyond normal human anatomy. So, what happen is they begin cardio and they do not watch the foods they eat. They do more cardio. They comeback on their fat, but eventually they cannot do enough cardio to create enough of the calorie deficit to loss enough body fat. There is just not enough time in a day. So, what they have to do is not only cut back on fats after eating they have to cut back on carbohydrates as well, which is the main source of fuel for the body.
So now, they are eating very, very little to get their body fats very, very low while doing weight training and cardio as well. So, at that point in time, they will begin to sacrifice a certain amount of muscle because you cannot loss significant portions of body fat without losing certain amount of muscle because there is fat in the muscle. But for the average of individual, who does about 20 or 30 minutes of cardio everyday in order to loss body fat. If you are eating a decent amount of food and not restrict any caloric intake significantly, they should be able to loss body fat and keep and even gain muscle. Remember muscle is gain through lifting not eating. Love your body.
