July 13, 1:10 in the afternoon. I am located right now here in the beautiful country town in Ontario that's called Port Perry. Not very large, I think it has kind of 9000 people, but what it’s really well known for which is café here, Tribal Voices. This is a café; no actually I don't think it is cafe. It's a place that actually sells all sorts of interesting merchandise from other countries, interesting oriented lamps, all that type of stuff and it's a very, very popular town, see here its Francesco Restaurant, this was actually recommended to me.
And it's a great local getaway destination for people from Toronto. It's actually only about 80 kilometers or less than an hour away from Toronto. And what makes it unique is the Victorian architecture that has been so beautifully preserved here and there are many specialty stores and boutiques in this town, Brock and some. Here is a beautiful port front here on the North side and you can see I am in the Victorian store fronts are still very, very nicely preserved.
And it's just the perfect getaway from Toronto, especially in times like now where gas prices have become so expensive. It has become -- look this here, the Queen Street Commons, what do they have here? All sorts of T-shirts and Canadiana, here is the Nutty Chocolatier here. Obviously, a popular local place with all sorts of interesting sweet merchandise.
And I just love these places because they have been so nicely pinned up renovated and this town on its own stuff of maintaining their architectural heritage. On this side I wanted to saw you actually the old post office which is also -- I would imagine a late Victorian building here. See this is the post office with the tower. You can see its 1:10 in the afternoon and over here is the Victorian card shop that offers unique gifts and right next to it is Luke’s country store.
So even the merchant peeps have done a very, very nice job, see Emerson, established 1917, insurance brokers; that even the merchants have a long standing history in this town. Now I will show you the other side of town in just a minute, Port Perry, Ontario.
