This camera is filled with different kinds of Timer Modes. To access the Timer Mode, you can have your mode dial set up to just about any mode. Press the Timer Mode button down here to access the Drive options. And then you can just scroll down until you get to either Two Second-Timer or Face Self-Timer. If you want you can change that. You can access the timer settings very quickly. Again I’ll just press this button and then press Menu to access the Drive settings in the Main Menu.
The Face Self-Timer which you saw previously, I can set this up to take a certain number of pictures once it is recognize another face in the picture. This mode is great for a group of people when you want to instead of setting a 10 Second Timer for example, you can just press the button and as soon as the camera recognizes another face in the picture it will start coming down to seconds and then take the number of pictures that you have selected here.
The Self Timer is something that you can change. Just go down, I have mine currently set to two seconds because this is why I normally use. The advantages of two seconds are I don’t have to wait an entire 10 seconds for the picture to be taken. And it’s not so much so I can get into the picture, it’s more so I can use a tripod, let the camera go, and give it two seconds to kind of settle down before taking the picture. That way the picture will be a lot more crisp. Move over, if you want to use the 10 Second Timer, the Face Self-Timer sometimes if the person isn’t looking straight at the camera may have difficulty recognizing the additional face and it may take up to 30 seconds to take the pictures. With the 10 second timer, it’s 10 seconds whether it sees the face or not. So, you can decide what you want to set your camera too.
Usually, I have it set to two seconds. You also have the option of setting a custom timer. If you move over to custom timer, these two options are illuminated. And what I can do is go down and set the number of seconds delayed after I’ve pressed the Shutter button and the number of pictures the camera will take once it has reached that delayed time. So for example, if 10 seconds is too long, it doesn’t take me that long to walk over to my group of people. I’ll set this to six seconds and three pictures is maybe one too many. I’ll just set it to two seconds, gives these two chances to get the picture right. And then go ahead and press Set. And now, I’ll press the Timer button and go down to custom timer. Press Set or give it a second to go away. And now, when I press the Shutter button, the custom timer will activate. It will count down to six seconds which is what I set previously and after six seconds, it will take two pictures.
