Host: What can my college career center do for me?

Karen James Chopra: College career centers tend to be woefully underused by undergraduates and graduates students alike. A college career center is a source of all sorts of information on a career that might be useful and enjoyable for you. Starting in your freshmen year and sophomore year or whenever you see this video, go to your college career center and say to them, “I’m trying to figure out what I might want to do when I finish. I know a little bit about what classes I’m enjoying but I cant figure out what career I should have, can you help me?” and the answer is of course they can help you.

They’ve got inventories that they can do for you. They got tremendous research library that is available to you to do research on potential careers. They can also steer you in the direction of internships or shadowing assignments that might be useful and you’ll have a resume well ahead of the April rush in your senior year if you spend time in your college career center.
