Answering your questions on Dating, Love, and Sex
Jennifer After dating a serious relationship, this is from Tina in Florida.
Dear Dan and Jennifer,
I have been dating a really sweet and generous guy for about a month now. We decided to take a day by day. Today, he texted me and asked how do I feel about him? What does this mean? I am a little confused.
Dan This is a weekend plan then he wants to know if you guys are still together. What can I say, maybe a practical kind of guy. I want to know what who I am going out with this weekend. The down side of taking stuff day by day is that you know you have to keep your options open for the next day.
Jennifer Yes
Dan So you are still thinking outside that the relationship box if you will
Jennifer Yes, so if you know about that poor guy, he is kind of wondering where things are. You know, because you can always take things day by day for so long. At some point, you are going to say, well you know, maybe, we should take this week by week or month by month, or something like that.
Dan Sort of like leasing [Foreign Language]
Jennifer Yes
Dan You know leasing a car for a few months rather than renting for a day at the time.
Jennifer Yes, you will really begin a day by day, okay. We tell people all the time, take it one day at a time. But the way we mean that is to live each day to the fullest and do not worry about the future but it is kind of nice to have a plan.
It is another contract. It is not an engagement or marriage or anything like that but it is kind of nice to have plan and make sure that your both are going to the same directions.
Dan And the reasonable expectation that this weekend, you are going out together with each other.
Jennifer Yes! Or does it define a new day
Dan Yes because guys are going to go out, right.
