Kerry Solomon: Surgical complications are extremely rare today. When we look at the success rate of cataract surgery and cataract outcomes, where we are at today, the success of cataract surgery is unparalleled with incisions so small they don't require stitches. Complications albeit quite rare, but still can occur because this is after all this is still surgery.

Complications that we all make patients aware about would be decreased vision as result of the surgery some things like an infection or hemorrhage or retina detachment in most instances these complications are less than 1% occurrence.
