Centauri Knot

Welcome to a fishing knot instruction video from videofishingknots.com. In this video I will show you how to tie a Centauri knot and you start out by putting the line for the eye of the hook and pull the tag end so you have something to work with. You will need a quite long tag end for this one and then you will basically do three wraps around the standing part or make three loops around the standing part. So if you go over for the first time you will go under like that and you will form a loop around the standing part and you will need to make three of these loops, you can hold on to them with your thumb and you index finger. So that was one and then we go over and under to form a second loop and finally we go over and under to form a third loop and now you will take tag end and put it through all these three loops. So I will take the tag end and put it through and you need to put it through from the correct side and the correct side is when the tag end is coming out on the same side as the standing part like this. So it needs to come out on the same side as the standing part and now all you need to do is to pull the tag end and that will form a loop. Pull the tag end and the standing part and then at some point the knot will just slide down to the eye of the hook and you can pull the knot tight. That is how to tie a Centauri knot.
