Tips.co.uk. I’m going to show you how to use, turn off your entire central heating system in order to carry out maintenance or if you wanted to change older radiators in your house.
First thing to do, make sure the boiler is off, so you check your boiler controls, and the boiler itself and make sure that it is switch off. Next step then, would be to isolate all the stop cocks, so locate all the stop cocks turn them anti clockwise or the gate valves everyone of them because you don’t know which one operates the hot water and so forth so turn them all off. Ring go around all the radiators, trying to locate a little valve.
There’s a little valve that lets all the water out so you need to go round all the radiators to try and locate it. It’s not always straight forward, after very lengthy search; we’ve managed to track it down to here, right underneath these cabinets. Now to drain the entire system, you have to put a hosepipe, on the end of these, these are the outlets. So you put a hosepipe on here attach with a jubilee clip. So you attach the jubilee clip on to the hose pipe, firmly on here, and then there’s a special key or you can use an adjustable spanner, and you turn that anti clockwise, and let the water run outside the house.
When there’s no more water in the system, you will be able to take all your radiators off, and carry out complete maintenance, okay. So that’s how you drain your entire central heating system in your house. More handy tips at handymantips.co.uk.
