Welcome to Sunday night shooters edition of Common Man Cocktails, today were looking at the Chip Shot.
This not necessarily a suggestion from one of our users but they had suggested and this was Ben from Austria had suggested a coffee drink a hot drink I understand spring is here but we had some pretty cold mornings and I love coffee and so do folks in Austria apparently from what Ben had said. So I felt we could do a drink that has tawaka, there are many nuts. A drink that had tawaka, which we recently had that is our orange, the core episode and I hadn’t really able to use it in the recipe yet.
Got the coffee, got the bailey’s which is great in coffee so really what were doing is what I would probably do normally which is baileys and coffee maybe as an after dinner drink. And or maybe morning times little if you drink and alcohol in the morning, isn’t just me and the orange liqueur to walk it was little vanilla hence and the brandy ask we have a chilled shot glass. Were going to put in here the tawaka then were just, not let’s I’ll show we’ll do it right here live.
So what I just said, were going to do the tawaka so were going to pour the tawaka in there and that guys is going to get a little chance to chill. Just chilling it out, max in relaxing then were going to do the baileys. No stirring, no shakes just dumping, that’s good right, that was both and the reason the shot glass is so big three quarters on an ounce. You could reduce everything if you want to there’s not a lot of math involved. I just choose to just stick with what they had because I like coffee and that means I’m going to use an ounce of coffee this is just black coffee no cream, no sugar because we got cream right here and I guess tawaka is like sugar.
Were going to pour it in here and were just going to shoot it. I don’t know how hot this is. To that, it could be a problematic but it is chilled shot glass. I don’t think I’m going to get burned if I do a little bit live one; it will go vibrant on you two right. So there you go that is your chip shot, it looks like a heavily creamed coffee. And I don’t know if I could drink all that at once so I will do my best.
First stop it’s not too hot the heat gets diluted in the frosted shot glass, so if you have shoot glass it’s normal to freezer. What I did in this case is I had a bucket of ice I just threw it in there for a little bit. And it’s frozen up and throw some ice in there too that will also works. Put it in the tawaka and the baileys and once you put in the hot coffee it cools it down just enough so that it’s still hot, still warm in the mouth but not scolding hot so you take a shot and you’ve feel like you’re dying.
It really taste like your typical baileys and coffee but with a slight twist because you get that like little vanilla, the orange vanilla, I’m kind of getting, I want to say caramel. I don’t know why, it’s almost like the caramel baileys. I’m using original baileys you could twist this up and use a mint or any of the other flavored baileys. I prefer the original because I don’t know what the combo’s going to do if you change it so you want to stick to this. This is called the chip shot, tawaka, baileys, hot coffee and you’ve got pot your self a party.
This is, check this out this my ways in way I get margarita shot glass from Orlando I thought that was pretty cool not awesome drink this week.
